Project Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 ½ tablespoons chili powder
  • 3 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained

 

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a crockpot, stir to combine. Cook on low for 6 hours. If meat is frozen cook on low for 8 hours.  Garnishes: chopped fresh cilantro, red onion, avocado, sour cream, cheddar cheese. Enjoy!!
