I have tried sooooo many recipes for making your own deodorant it’s not even funny! This is my fav and works so well! The best part, of course, is no icky cancer-causing chemicals or toxins but also you can switch up your fragrance by using the essential oil blend of your choice!
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons tapioca starch, arrowroot, or cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon shea butter
1 tablespoon beeswax
12 drops of your favorite essential oil or a blend of oils (my favs are lemongrass, cypress, petitgrain)
Place a small pot on the stove with approximately 2 inches of water and bring to a simmer. Place the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax in a small mason jar and set the mason jar in the simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted and combined. Next, add the tapioca starch and baking soda and stir to combine. Remove from heat and set the mason jar on the counter to cool. In approximately 10 minutes, add the essential oils of your choice and stir again to combine. Let sit until completely cooled. This deodorant is meant to be applied with your fingertips. Use a small amount and rub/spread under each arm.
