Salsa is a fantastic way to add freshness to your informal parties and family snack time. Check out this natural recipe. It’s easier to make your own salsa than you might think! You can use canned tomatoes for this or roast your own.
– 1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes with juice or 3.5 cups roasted tomatoes
– 1/4 cup chopped onion
– 1 clove garlic, minced or grated
– 1 Chipolte in Adobo, chopped
– 1/4 teaspoon sugar
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1/3 cup cilantro
– Juice of 1/2 lime
Combine the tomatoes, onion, chipotle, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, lime juice, and cilantro in a blender or food processor. Pulse until you get the salsa to the consistency you like. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. This freezes well if you don’t eat it all! I like to use leftover for breakfast burritos! Yummo!
