Lemon Pepper Wings with Secret Sauce


2.5 lbs Chicken Wings

2 tbsp Avocado or Olive Oil

6 cloves garlic grated or minced

Zest of 1 lemon or 5 drops doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (do not use if Whole30)

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tsp ghee or butter

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder


Pat dry the chicken wings. Season with salt and pepper.

Combine wings and the remaining ingredients (except the butter/ghee) in a bowl. Toss until well combined. Let marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes or cover and marinate in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack over the foil wrapped sheet. Spray wire rack with cooking spray. Place wings on top of the wire rack. Reserve the remaining marinade.

Place wings in oven and bake for 35 minutes, or until skin is crisp and brown.

When your wings are about 10 minutes from being ready, heat the remaining marinade in a small skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer and add 1 tbsp. of ghee or butter, whisking occasionally and making sure it does not burn, simmer until the wings are done.

When wings are done, place into a bowl, pour the reduced marinade over the mixture and toss to combine.  Serve as is or with our ‘secret sauce’!
