These are so easy and delicious! Oh, and YES, they are the REAL DEAL! They are my “go to” recipe when I need a decadent dessert! All things in moderation, right?!
– 3/4 cup all-purpose or wheat flour
– 3/4 cup cacao or cocoa
– 1 cup cane sugar
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 tsp baking powder
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/3 cup organic milk or nut milk such as coconut or almond
– 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips (I like Ghirardelli)
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 6 tablespoons grassfed butter
– 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Make these peppermint brownies by adding 4 drops of doTerra’s peppermint essential oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 8 x 8 baking dish. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa, sugars, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, melt together the butter, 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips, and milk in the microwave on high for one minute then stir to combine. Add that mixture, the 2 eggs, and the vanilla to the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Lastly, add the other 1/2 cup of bittersweet chips and stir into the batter. You could add walnuts at this stage if you prefer a brownie with nuts. This is the time to add the peppermint essential oil if you are choosing that option. Spray an 8 x 8 baking dish with cooking spray. Place the batter in the prepared baking dish and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream! Yum!
